About Our Organisation
kanamaluka Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a not-for-profit, volunteer run native wildlife rehabilitation centre located in Pipers River in Tasmania's North East. All of the wildlife that comes through our door is given the best chance at rehabilitation and release back to their native environment.
Our centre aims to give Tasmania's injured and orphaned wildlife the wild life they deserve by facilitating their health, freedom and independence; in turn, contributing to the biodiversity, ecology, and longevity of Tasmania's wilderness.
Welcome to kanamaluka Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
In recognition of the deep history and culture of lutruwita/Tasmania, we acknowledge and pay deep respect all Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the original owners, and continuing custodians of the sky, seas, waterways and land on which we live and work, and the unique and beautiful animals that we provide care for.
! Please contact Bonorong for all other wildlife related emergencies !
We have limited resources and do not provide a rescue service. For wildlife emergencies, please contact Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Bonorong runs Tasmania's dedicated 24/7 wildlife rescue hotline and will be able to organise a qualified rescuer close to your location to attend the rescue.
Kanamaluka Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a not-for-profit organisation. 100% of donated funds go towards the running costs of caring for wildlife.
Donated funds are used to purchase food and milk, medical supplies, cleaning supplies, vet bills and other ongoing costs.
